Bijin
Krishna
District Magistrate & Collector, Paschim Medinipur.
Engineer from Kerala. Servant of Bengal. Builder of bridges — across geographies, across worlds.
Engineer.
Administrator.
Bridge.
Born in Kerala on April 18, 1983, Bijin Krishna grew up in the land where literacy is religion and the intellectual tradition runs as deep as its backwaters. He earned his degree from Model Engineering College, Kochi — one of Kerala's premier technical institutions.
Before the steel frame of the IAS, there was the digital frontier. Bijin spent five years in Sunnyvale, California, navigating corporate technology implementations. Silicon Valley gave him a global lens and a systems mind. But something called him back — something louder than a salary.
In 2012, he cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination and joined the IAS West Bengal cadre. He has since served across the state's most complex districts — from the border terrains of Dakshin Dinajpur to the industrially strategic Paschim Medinipur, home to IIT Kharagpur. Thirteen years in, he continues to choose the harder path.
